Peter Richardson first registered his business in 1975 based in Hounslow and Twickenham Middlesex, enjoying the boom years, he specialised in selling the now classic Ford Capri and Cortinas 1600E.
Running four garages, and at one stage a staff of fifteen, Peter moved on to all types of models, the most sought after being the BMW E30 Sport, which was his passion. Moving to Winchester in 1989 BMW became Richardson Autos first choice.
Peter was always a boat man and during 1986 started Pacific Motor Yachts importing large motor yachts from Taiwan, loving Asia he spent a great deal of time in Hong Kong, Japan and later China, on moving to Bournemouth in 1999 Alma Road Garage was leased and along with the range on BMW and VW. Peter imported the, now famous, range of Japanese sports cars FTO, GTO, EVO, WRX, SUPRA the range was never ending so during 2003 - 2008 Japanese cars were the order of the day feeding 3 outlets it was all good fun.
Today Richardson Autos is back to UK reg cars based in Southampton and Ringwood, but still is supplying Japanese and German models with a leaning to Japan supporter and a member of Trading Standard Schemes to assist the buying public (and dealers) to conform to the never ending changes to the law.
